ScienceDaily (Dec. 3, 2008) — More than 95 per cent of men who took degarelix for prostate cancer saw their testosterone levels fall dramatically as early as three days after they started treatment, according to a paper in the December issue of BJU International.
The article went on to say:
The hormonal side-effects experienced by the three treatment groups were similar to previously reported effects for androgen deprivation hormone therapy.
I don’t like the sound of this. Has there been a study to see if lowering testosterone ihis way increases the risk of heart disease? Testosterone has been shown to prevent heart disease and reduce depression. Is that what they refer to about androgen deprivation therapy side effects?
